That is one gorgeous kitchen she is taking out. Very sad. Seems like she could have met her "modern needs" by changing a few appliances.

Father down in the article, it says that the redo was likely for catering large events, which I do believe. That was a big reason (besides dry rot, etc.) for mine.

I would love to try cooking on an AGA. Alas, warm weather kitchens and AGAs don't traditionally go together. Even though they have models that don't stay on all the time now, I think energy conscious folks may not gravitate to the brand just because AGA is mentally associated with the stove/oven that never has to preheat. As the brits say, they are posh though.

So it's not a tapmaster? Darn!
