Please advise which cabinet brands allow for DIY box assembly

Hi all,

We are considering assembling our own Ikea cabinet boxes, and ordering the doors from a cabinet door supplier. However, I don't want to overlook other options for DIYers who want to assemble their own cabinet boxes. Are there other good options beside Ikea? DH is taking some time off work this fall to help us move this house construction along, but also exchange sweat labour for some cost savings. We have one teen DS who likes this kind of work too.

Also, can you recommend good websites, workshops, etc that help you learn the best assembling technique beside learning on the job?

Check out barker cabinets, conestoga, and scherr's. All get high reviews on this board. We also are currently exploring barker or ikea with custom doors. I've seen a lot of mixed reviews on cliq studio. But I know there was at least one person on this forum lisanwi or something like that) who used cliq for a nice kitchen. She seemed happy with the quality.

I'm sure others will chime in with more companies or more experienced opinions.

We will start looking at those cabinet companies you suggested. I forgot to mention, that we are in Southern Ontario, Canada so will need to find a company that distributes or manufacturers in Canada.
