Kitchen Countdown - Need help with assessment

40-50K kitchen remodel. House is 1960s. Last update 1998. Working with designer who has good rep. around here. Started and stopped on remodel 2-3 times. Now this is it. Designer and contractor came over and measured and supplied us with a layout so far which we think is nice but needs some work. My questions: 1) what are the nice functional areas that people are putting into kitchens these days? Specifically when I was looking 4-5 years ago, I saw veg prep areas with an undercounter, two drawer frig and maybe side sink. So are there other functional areas people are putting in these days. 2) I read some where to account for all of your stuff before you start. Like where is the mixer going, the canned goods, etc. - did your designer do this for you? Is there a way to just search this forum? This website needs a bit of a remodel as well...Ron
