Do you have any pics to share? Seeing the cabinets, counters, and floor together will help since these things aren't changing. If your floors are a warm neutral, a tumbled travertine would look nice. Or a lightly colored glass tile in taupe, or a coordinating green. I saw taupe glass subway tiles on Overstock.com yesterday.

As for paint colors, i'd pick the other elements first. Lots of popular light neutrals like SW Accessible Beige, Kilim Beige, Softer Tan, Maison Blanche, Bittersweet Stem or if you want to go bold Deep Sea Dive, Homburg Gray, Rockwood Blue Green, Privelege Green, or svelte sage. Or a nice caramel color might work too.

FYI quartz may be a good option for your island since its low maintenance and durable.
