Hi!
I am in the beginning stages of kitchen renovation & our GC sent us to the kitchen designer he uses. She recommends cuisines laurier, a canadian brand. I'm having trouble finding any info on it.. Anyone heard of it??
thanks :)

yes,I saw the display in a showroom in Windsor and the salesperson pointed out the huge design options.... if you don't need a particular profile to your applied molding and are not all about the glazing color and saturation and hang in the corners, etc, why choose it? If you are closer to a basic full overlay in a shaker, that any one of many great companys can produce,I wouldn't spend the extra. Do you have an "antique" look to a hutch or something like that as part of your design? that could be a case for it. When the exchange rate was better this could have been a choice for an eclectic looking kitchen....but now-I'd be curious what price point the sales person can offer you.

i honestly have no idea why this is the brand that he uses but it is included in our building price. I just want to know if it is a quality product that he is providing us with or of its worth it to take the kitchen credit & shop a different brand that is better quality. How did you feel about the display you saw?
thanks so much for answering me back.

The display I saw was very "special"-even beyond custom-think "artisan" with every detail painstakingly created for the final product. The finishes were superb with numerous glazing/distressing techniques. These are French Canadian woodcrafters I believe-or the inspiration comes from that heritage of skillset. It is possible if you streamline your selection, therefore not requiring the level of miniscule detail, you might get a slightly better cabinet than the price point here of semi custom or stock with lots of upgrades. I do think the "upgrades" that are now practically standard on stock or semi cabs here make for some really very decent cabinets and affordable so that the counters, appliances, can get some dedicated dollar amt of your budget. If the builder has a set-up with a designer and this particular brand only...it may go like this--you go in with the plan/or work on the plan/dollar amount pre-determined/she presents the several cabinet selections avail[they have plucked a few from the general offerings]....choices are are a subset of what the company offers. It will probably be high quality unless they have a contract and are showing you basically entry level stuff-but I don't know why they would pick that company for builder grade. perhaps the Laurier group is having difficulty and are putting out high volume to designers working with new build. Can't know all the specefics obviously-but go and take a look.
