Well, we are now 99.99% done and here's the pic-heavy reveal (edited). Thank you to everyone who answered my questions and provided useful insight via other posts and discussions. My main regret is that I didn't join the discussion earlier.

The kitchen is a 12' 3" wide by 26' 8" long space formed by combining an existing formal dining room with an existing kitchen. The existing dining room is being relocated to a combined formal living/dining space. The family room, foyer and hall bath were also touched during the remodel. The home is a 1930s modified Colonial Revival with Art Deco touches throughout, in an in-city neighborhood on narrow(er) lots in Northern California. That mix informed our targeted style inspiration, which was Traditional with a touch of Hollywood Regency (replacing the black and white with grey and white). The hard-to-change items were kept relatively neutral, allowing easy updates in the color palette in the future.

This kitchen replaced an existing white (thermafoil) kitchen, which replaced a white kitchen. The kitchen may have been mint green or yellow in its lifetime as well, but has been mostly white over the 75+ years. The layout was restricted by our desire to keep the corner windows and side windows, to both preserve the exterior architecture and stay faithful to the original designs in the neighborhood.

This remodel was all done via services of a GC and KD, with us taking almost a solitary lead in design choices (blame us). Originally, another wall was due to come down to better connect to the Family Room (which is 95% done). The budget was considered moderate (but high to us).

Here are the details:

Cabinetry: Crystal Cabinet Works, Belmont door, beaded inset in Keyline and full custom. Colors are Cotton White on PGM and Cinnamon on Cherry. Features include pullouts, wood drawers, soft close, plywood sides, and integrated end panels. Made in Minnesota.
Cabinet Hardware: Schaub, Empire
Counters: Caesarstone Piatra Grey, 2cm, mitered edge
Farmhouse Sink: Porcher
Island Sink: Kohler Iron Tones
Faucets: Danze Opulence
Backslash: Carrara 3x6"
Window Shelf, Table Top: Bianco Carrara
Pendants: Maxim Metro
UCL: InspiredLED, customized Designer Series bars and tape lining glass cabinets
Recessed: Halo 4", subsidized by utility company
Range: CornuFe Albertine in stainless
Hood: Modern-Aire PS24, powder coated body in custom color (RAL 9037), pulled from counter
DW: Bosch 500, paneled
WD: Viking Pro
Fridge: Viking Pro, CD FD with trim kit
MW: GE Spacemaker
Disposals: Insinkerator Evolution
Windows (added last year): Pella Architect, double hung and casements with roll-up screens
Table Base: Custom
Table Top, Corner Ledge: Bianco Carrara marble
Banquette: Coventry, Ballard Designs
Counter Stools: Marcello, Ballard Designs
Wall Color: Benjamin Moore, "Spa"
Ceiling Color: Benjamin Moore, "Chantilly Lace"
Floor: White oak, quarter sawn random plank width and lengths with beveled edges. Custom matched and stained to blend with the original flooring

Here are a few "before" shots:

Original dining room was rarely used; the wall came down, shown here mid-demo.

Here is the final --

Here's the working end. The corner sink is not ideal, but works with the original architecture of the home and the neighborhood. The large single bowl is actually more useful than the former split bowl. The second island sink is key to making this work:
 photo 8f069df7-2fbc-46c8-8006-6196458e1ce5_zps1475874d.jpg

Corner banquette at the other end. We went with moveable furniture pieces to give the flexibility to move to a table in the future. The seats lift up and provide additional storage:
 photo P6300028_zpsa2d50550.jpg

Towel bar in narrow pullout is handy. Double trash pullout is next door. One side of the range is tray storage and the other a spice pullout:
 photo null_zpsb519dbd6.jpg

Backsplash and countertop closeup -- went with low profile outlets under the cabinets or low and horizontal against the counter, which are then covered by appliances. The counter has a miter edge to save overhang space:
 photo P6300015_zps6b4305a9.jpg

Banquette. The seats lift up for extra storage. These were chosen rather than built-ins to keep the layout flexible. The table base had to be specially designed to hold the heavy Carrara Marble top. The X detail was chosen to allow feet to pass by and echo the X used in the cabinetry.
 photo P7020058944x1280_zpsbb62c26e.jpg

Full view showing the island. The counterstools swivel (but look like they don't), which is why they were chosen. The TV is a on a tilt-out articulating swivel mount. "Joey" STB is hidden behind the panel, out of view. This was the result of a last minute conspiracy with the electrician and the tv-watcher in the home.
 photo P71701421280x960_zps07d54803.jpg

Microwave storage in a pop up cabinet -- larger than needed, and sized to handle multiple different brands because these things will be the first thing to fail:
 photo mwcabinet_zpsa435fdd0.jpg

Here are the requisite piggy shots -- sitting on a "pig pen" of Carrara:
 photo P6300033_zps42a7216a.jpg

Outlets are tucked under the island overhang, complete with integrated USB sockets for charging i-everythings.

And Jake the Corgi holds reign -- and the valance feet shown are one of our favorite finishing details:

And a bonus pics (Sorry for the lengthy posts) -- Preview of the nearby FR fireplace for you Arabesque fans... I was going to use this in the kitchen but it was going to be too busy:

The adjacent family room is now 95% complete and some pics are here: FR Reveal

Very nice kitchen. Please post budget details. It's nice to see what you get for your money in different parts of the country.

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Wow! I LOVE it, you did a wonderful job designing. I must say I really love the green touches you have with those cabinet colors. I may be a little biased as I am looking for places to add some green in my kitchen with that color scheme :-)

Love all the details, really works well together, congrats and I hope you enjoy it for years to come!

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

The finished product looks wonderful! Love the backsplash!!

RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Wow! Well done. Your kitchen is just stunning and your fireplace arabesque tile is to die for!

I loved Schaub Empire but it wasn't a good fit for my cabinets. It is just the right one for your kitchen. I finally decided on Schaub, Casual Elegance.

Your pigs are so cute. I have been looking high and low for a towel pig but haven't found the right one yet. It just has to have that oh so proud smile.

I love your touches of green in the kitchen. I was wanting to do a chocolate and vanilla theme throughout my renovated space but my house seems to be crying out for blues and greens.

Would you tell me please what color the paint is on your fireplace wall cabinetry? It is just lovely.

My existing foyer has a solid wall of stone similar to your before FR. Was it terribly messy and expensive to tear it out? I just don't like the looks of it inside. We have enough cedar and stone outside.

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Great job. Curious about how you like your range? Are the burners powerful enough and does the oven heat evenly? IOW worth it?

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Beautiful! Loving the window seat, you must get lots of company there, and what nice spot to pore over a cookbook. The sink and faucet really make the corner, looks nice with the windows above. The pedants are eye-catching, very nice. And the 2 breakfast nook chairs are lovely. I like the towel-pull-out by the sink, too! And you have prep space near the range finally! And another example of the dog matching the kitchen :) Thanks for sharing, it's beautiful.

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Lovely! I particularly love your pendants, MW storage solution, your island, and banquette. Enjoy it for years to come!

Beautiful !! Your choices do honor the home and I love the window placement in relation to the banquette. Your greens are so fresh and given the part of the country you are in are really sensational touches. I hope you will show the rest of the reno when you are done. Would like to see how it all flows. Love that fireplace ! c

RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

I love your beaded inset cabinets, love your cinnamon cherry island, love your appliances, love your counters, love your backsplash, love the touches of green, love the floors and mostly I really love how everything goes so well together creating a beautiful functional kitchen. Thank you for sharing.

The kitchen looks amazing! It is so beautiful. Please share the name of the tile around he fireplace - I can't stop looking at it!

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

It looks beautiful!!!! Love how the Spa paint color looks in your kitchen. We used it in our "office" and it's a nice soothing green.

Your little piggies and of course Jake the dog (!) are the perfect accessories for your lovely kitchen!!! Enjoy!

RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Are you me?

Green is my favorite color and I love white cabinetry and marble so I can't help but love this. The green plus wood floor really brings the mind to nature, which is the inspiration for my kitchen too. Oh, and I have a marble table too - it's not the right shape for the DR in this house, so it's my desk instead :)

Love the use of black-ish counters and marble backsplash with these elements. And oh, that hood, and flanked by the gorgeous glass cabinets!

Very lovely and well done. Congratulations!

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Gorgeous! You can take credit for a beautiful design.

Is Jake a Cardigan? Can't see a tail from here.

RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

What a beautiful kitchen! You really took advantage of the unique space you had and it looks like a very usable layout!

RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Thanks all for the kind comments. And thanks to all who offered feedback during my decision processes --- you all had hand in this. Let me address the questions:

Holly-Kay: I love the Schaub hardware -- the quality for the price is very high. My KD in fact is going to try to add the line, after seeing it. The lines of the bar pulls echo the original home's hardware and the cup pulls echo the range detail. The paint on the FR cabinetry is Devoe Nightingale custom matched in SW. This company/color no longer exists, but was used in the rest of the first floor throughout. The walls match to BM Affinity. The stone was messy (jackhammers, dust) and expensive to remove. It literally weighed a ton, and the fireplace beneath it had to have extensive repairs.

rococogurl: I know the range is not a popular choice amongst the GWers, but it is working out extremely well for us. The burners seem powerful enough to really get a nice sear or boil a big pot of power, though I have not tried stir frying. The evenness at low is impressive. The oven does appears to have good evenness, but I'll tell more after baking for the 4th.

bpathome: the window seat was a happy solution to a low window. Not only is it functional, but it visually widens the narrowness of the kitchen. The drawers are super deep as well.

trailrunner: Thanks, with the amount of sun in the area, we felt we could go cooler with the palette. I will post a FR update either here or in the appropriate forum (remodeling? home decorating?)

gina925: The tile is from Ken Mason Tile, called South Beach Arabia. The color is gloss white but it can be custom tinted to a wide range of stock and custom matched colors. They have a version of the beveled Arabesque and a mini-one as well.

tracie.erin: we may be separated at birth, then :)

annkh: Jake is a black-headed tri Pembroke Welsh Corgi, and lord and master of the household.

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Wow! What a big difference! I bet cooking on that new range and with elbow room to cook!
And piggy and puppy!
Great job!
Thank you for sharing.

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Oooo, very nice! The white/green/grey is very calming. I love the lights too! And I know corner sinks aren't a favorite here, for some good reasons, but I love how your sink has those windows and triangle ledge! It looks great and you seem to have planned well for that location. That towel bar is genius!

Just noticed the detail on the pulls, very cool.

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

He's got big ears for a Pem! But as I look closer, I see he has dainty feet (at least compared to my Cardis).

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

I really love your new space! I was especially drawn to the green details in your kitchen. What a beautiful way to tie in your kitchen with your very inviting eating area!

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

gooster -- I know that it's not popular here though I'm not sure why. Part of the reason I asked. I see them frequently where I live and most of the new high end places have/use them. I don't always agree with the "conventional wisdom" on these matters. Apart from trying one out myself I like to hear experience from an actual owner who is using it vs hearsay. So after you've put it through the paces it would be great to hear an assessment. I've seen them in person and truly consider them drool-worthy.

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

wow, everything is pulled together beautifully! love the backsplash and the range and vent hood. they are so cool looking!

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Thanks again! Some more answers:

a2gemini: The function and flow have improved tenfold. We are using pathways in the home that have been ignored a long, long time.
willamsem: The corner sink works now as the DW is spaced via custom-sized pieces. There is also the trash pullout to the right and emptying to storage is close by.
annkh: Yes, one neighbor calls him "Radar"
rococogurl: I don't see them too often -- even in new construction and high-end remodels. I looked at the feedback here and don't have the same concerns. There may have been a problem in the past with the doors getting too hot. No issues with mine. My cookie sheets fit in this single oven model. Even on the 2nd largest burners, I actually have to dial them back when doing some searing.
michoumonster: the hood itself was a choice I made based on direct recommendations from the Appliance board. I had a world of trouble with the VAH sales process.

Well, I think you did a fanTASTIC job with the design! There's just so much love about your space, I don't know where to start. Enjoy it!

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Somebody PM'd for the refrigerator and pantry area, to see how the trim out works:
 photo P7020077931x1280_zps838e2102.jpg

I also am copying how the budget broke down by subfunction, including all taxes and GC markup. This was in reply to another thread on how the budgets get allocated:
Cabinets (incl install): 33%
Appliances (no install): 20%
Floors: 5%
Counters: 7%
Fixtures, Sinks, HW, Window Treatments: 7%
Plans & Permits: 2%
Labor (includes paint, electrical, plumbing, wall tear down, plaster repair, HVAC, appliance install): 26%

ETA: Windows are not included in the above, as they were done previously. Total for this round was 68K, roughly 10% over the final budget prior to the start of demo.

Wow, don't know how I missed your fabulous reveal with a Corgi and everything! The Corgi's my favorite part, since I have a trip-colored little Corgi myself!

The kitchen is awesome, all your choices look beautiful together and the room really seems huge compared to how it was before.

Congratulations on a fabulous kitchen! Many years of happy cooking !

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

It's gorgeous! I really like the design on the cabinet glass doors. I love the counters too. I don't know that I've seen that color before, I thought it was soapstone in the first picture until I checked your materials list.

RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

How gorgeous is that!! Beautiful job. It is serene and inviting. I have window seat envy (have always wanted one). If I were you, that is where I would sip my tea and just enjoy gazing at your beautiful kitchen. Your backsplash and counter really set off the whole room. Have a lovely Fourth of July enjoying the fruits of your labor!

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Wow. What a fabulous job! Great light filled space with character! Love your color scheme, range and hood, lighted cabinets, corner sink, window seat, towel pullout, pendants and banquette!

Speaking of that beautiful CornuFe, I am very interested in finding out the performance also. I am on the fence about my choice. Either a CornuFe or a Lacanache (Cluny of Chagny) would be my choice for looks alone but don't hear much on the practical performance details like sear to simmer capabilities, even oven temps and heat from the oven (or not) when standing at the cooktop. I'm in North Texas and don't want my cooking appliances to feel like the outdoor summer heat. I might end up with a 36" induction cooktop with wall ovens but so much prefer the aesthetic of the French ovens.

So would love a detailed review of your beautiful CornuFe when you get a chance.

Great job on your wonderful kitchen and breakfast area!

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Thanks!

sanjuangirl: There seem to be a lot of Corgis around! A popular GW pet. The room is a lot bigger and we are better utilizing the square footage now, compared to the past.

marti8a: We actually considered soapstone but wanted something a little lighter, and were discouraged from both Super White and Pietra del Cardoso.

cindallas: I'll be sure to post a review in the Appliance forum when I get a few more months of usage out of it. Right now, I've been especially impressed with the low heat control. A pan of roasted sausages came out perfectly even and carmelized, despite my concerns with the sealed burners. Similarly, everything from eggs to quesadillas have been evenly cooked. On the hot end, there were no problems with a good sear on steaks and roasted meats. However, we did ruin a tea kettle by leaving it on too long (it was too fast to boil out!). The oven door stays cool, but I haven't done a large roast yet. Blackberry-Peach cobbler is on the agenda for today.

Happy 4th!

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Thanks for your first impressions review! Glad you're enjoying it in your beautiful kitchen.

Your Blackberry - Peach cobbler sounds terrific. Makes me want to bake ...

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

I LOVE it, especially the dark gray countertop with the marble. It's so gorgeous and a really nice design for the space. Love the fireplace tile too. Enjoy!

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Love this, and wonder how I missed it the first time around! The glass front cabinets and hood are the stuff of dreams and the pendants and hardware are perfect. Congratulations, I hope you are enjoying this gorgeous space!

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Thanks, kksmama, mpagmom. Six weeks in and we're at 99 percent done (need new dw panel). Very, very happy with the result and the improve layout and utility. Square footage in the house that was going underutilized is now being utilized, and traffic patterns have changed. Still need to finish the FR and then the new formal DR/LR. I will add to the post or start a new one in the Home Dec forum, where I now spend more attention...

cindallas: so far, no problem with the range! Cobbler did turn out beautifully.

Gooster, this kitchen is gorgeous....wow, wow, wow! Not sure how I missed it but most pleased to have seen your reveal. Love the green counter stools, counter top, and contrasts. Off to look at your pictures again! Best, oldbat2be

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

I guess I missed this beauty too! Such a beautiful kitchen.
Love your island - what are the dimensions? I'm looking to do something similar is oak.
Cute corgi!

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

What a lovely kitchen. Kudos! As to the Corgi, one of our DSes has a tenant with a Corgi--a very tiny one at that. He rules DS's English Mastiff with an iron fist. Hysterically funny to watch. Enjoy your wonderful new kitchen!

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Every time, I revisit this post, I see something else I love about your kitchen. I love the lighting in the ceiling, the matching chairs to the green window treatments, the green tea kettle, the green towel, the skinny door for the green towel, the skinny door for the spice rack, the pull-out cabinet with the trashcans in them, the piggies, and of course all that I told you I loved already (kitchen cabinet beaded inset style, the white color chosen, the hardware, the counters, the island, the appliances, the gorgeous floors, the new open space, the adorable Corgi, etc. Again that you so much for sharing and giving us ideas and having us all smile at the beautiful and functionality of your renovated kitchen.

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Your kitchen is really gorgeous, like something out of a magazine. I really love the mix of materials and the fact that it suits the space so beautifully. I am considering a Ballard banquette for my much smaller and less glorious little kitchen and am just wondering how you find yours. Is it comfortable? I want a place where my kids will be happy to camp out and do homework (well, not happy to do homework, but comfortable enough to keep them in their seats!) Thanks for any feedback!

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Thank you again for the kind comments. I did go back and edit some photos/details from the original post.

oldbat2be: As I said before, I always loved your kitchen and the tile choices. Good luck as the FR progresses...

ppbenn: Island is 41"x104". The aisles are roughly 41 1/2 to 42" wide, but 47" between the range and island..

kitchendet: Yes, Corgis are herding dogs and very stubborn -- that makes for an alpha dog in a small dog body!

lynn: thanks again!

smaloney: I would describe the Ballard banquette as a medium firm seat. The padding is adequate and you are not "hitting ground" like on some cheap cushions on a bench, but it is not plush and overstuffed, either. Also, ideally the back could be angled a few degrees more backward.

Gooster - really fabulous. Looks like you are in bay area as well. Love the bit of glam you added in so tastefully. What is that appliance below the Microwave?

Can you tell me where you got the base for your marble top table? We just installed new counters and are repurposing a piece of granite from the old counters to use as a table, so I need a base. Thanks.

RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Thanks again! Answers below...

GWLolo: Not going over the top was the goal -- what to do with a traditional 1930s home with Art Deco details -- thanks to GW the style inspiration came together. The WD is in the base below the MW. It is an older floor model that the dealer had, as a bargain. A bit bulky, but the handles and steel finish match, but so close to the fridge it is less noticeable. Was originally going to panel this, but read all the warnings here regarding steam in inset cabinets.

vinudev: I added those after the fact, due to the struggles everyone has in the planning stages. It was a result, though, of strict budgeting and careful sourcing.

romy718: I don't think we have very interesting contents, at least yet, and some of the stuff are placeholders. We are trying to keep it practical while decorative. The most unusual item is a full set of vintage forest green Anchor Glass, unused, that my mom sourced at a church rummage sale. We are also in the hunt for a tea pot, soup tureen and vintage Art Deco coffee set. Here you go... Right Cabinet and Left Cabinet

needinfo1: After searching locally, we found a craftsman on Etsy, FunkyLivingCA, that was able to customize an existing design to support the marble. A small story -- the small ledge at the corner sink pushed us into three slabs. Rather than buy a full slab of quartz, we bought a slab of Carrara and used the remainder for the table.

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

I just bought this soup tureen at Williams-Sonoma. $89 marked down to $18. I bought 2, if you'd like one.

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

I'm just seeing this reveal. Lovely Lovely kitchen. Thank you for sharing so many details.
I'm curious, after working in there for several months now, do you like the drum pendants? Do they supply enough light over the island? I've spec'd out something very similar. Love the look, hoping for the function.

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Thanks mlweaving (and blondy)! Now recently 100% finished (with this room), as I've just installed the replacement DW panel.

I like the drum pendants. There is a diffuser at the bottom opening, which eliminates any glare (in your eyes and on the counter) but also cuts down the strength a bit (60W each). Thus, it is less like a spotlight (like the pots) and more general lighting. They do provide sufficient light on their own, but it is not as complete as when the surrounding pots are added at roughly 50%.

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Hi Gooster, inspired by your super lovely pictures we put the Piatra Grey counter tops in our new kitchen too. We have not committed to a backsplash yet. It is either white ceramic or marble subway tiles for us. I am wondering how your marble subway tiles are working out for you near your cooktop?
Have you had any issues with staining from grease or tomato sauce or anything else?
How often will you have to seal the tile?
Also, what color grout did you use?
Was the grout sanded or unsanded? Thanks so much!

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

erinf8: Are you happy with your install? I don't think I've seen pics.

The marble tiles are working out OK. However, we are keeping messy foods on the front burner (e.g., simmering pasta sauce) and wiping up all splatter immediately. There was a disaster early on when a red wine bottle was dropped and wine splashed everywhere on the BS! Because there was glass everywhere and a dog underfoot, it took more than a few seconds to wipe up. There was no staining at all. When it was new, it was sealed about six times over the first two weeks. Since then, nothing. We should probably put a refresher on before T-day.

The grout was Custom's Platinum, I recall. I can't recall the type; I will have to check to see if there is some around.

I had to look at your kitchen again. Gooster, you did an amazing job and I am so in love with your kitchen. Your kitchen and other inset cabinets on this wonderful forum have been an inspiration to my kitchen plans. I will be sure to share when I am done or need some help. Thank you so much! I only wish I could fit an island in my kitchen but at least I can fit a kitchen table in my kitchen by the sliding door. I may need help with ideas for the sliding door as I am going to remove the soft vertical blinds I have there now that when I bought them I loved them but they will not work with the taller cabinets there. I may wait to finish the kitchen and then post it to ask what I should do. You have such great taste!

Hi! I found this page because I am looking to install Piatra Gray countertops and the same type of blacksplash! Can anyone tell me the size of the backsplace tiles? 2x4 or 3x6??? I'm having trouble deciding! Thanks!

RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Beautiful remodel! Lots of great details and it all works together nicely. Nice area for entertaining!

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Amy2313: These are 3x6.

lynn2006: thanks again and good luck in your decision making!

thanks, dgmorish, looking forward to T-day for the big tryout.

Wow oh wow! So glad this came back up as I missed this the first go-round. Holy moly it is absolutely stunning!

Love so much about it, the beautiful cabs and especially the glass doors with such interesting mullions, the window seat (great use of space to add continuity to the kitchen without changing the windows and sacrificing natural light), the island and those gorgeous stools, the backsplash, and that range. Oh that range!

Am going back up to the top to admire it some more now. Wonderful job, what a difference in both form and amazing function. Congratulations!

Gooster, I just noticed that your double pull-out trash cans have no lids. I want a double pull-out trash can with lids since I am afraid of odors and want to contain them. Do you find any problems with not having lids? I love your kitchen so much as you know. :)

Where was I this summer? I missed this gorgeous reveal.

I love all the geometric shapes, and how the Xs on the chairs match the cabinets!

Can you tell me where your purchased the chairs?

Congratulations Gooster! Enjoy the holidays in your beautiful kitchen!

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

So pretty, love the green touches. And the USB ports are brilliant!

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

taggie: thanks so much!

lynn2006: I think "lid-less" is pretty common for garbage pull-outs. Even with inset cabinets, there is little to no odor leakage when the door is shut all the way. I think Rev-a-Shelf makes lids for this size, however.

crazybusytoo: Thanks! I tried to repeat the X motif -- it is in the FR as well and in the custom kitchen table base. Believe it or not the chairs come from Target! I stumbled across them one day while surfing for something else. In the matching fabric to the rug(s) I bought previously, no less -- they are not even in the same line. I had seen a similar (more delicate and high quality) chair from Barbara Barry for Baker, but that was more than I wanted to spend on something that would be subject to kitchen wear.

mtnredux: Thanks!. We leave the roll-up type usb cables plugged in and tucked up under the edge. .

Thank you Gooster for letting me know why lid-less is usually common for garbage pull-outs and that Rev-A-Shelf makes a lid if that is what I would want.

RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Wowza!!! That is a gorgeous kitchen. I missed it before. Glad you posted the link from the thread asking for links to kitchens. Your range is stunning! Everything is.

Nice job!

Great kitchen! Like the Caesarstone Piatra Grey with the Carrera BS. Also love the well thought out outlet placement.

RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Wow! Another beautiful kitchen! Just gorgeous. I love the dog too!

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Thanks aktillery, bettyboop999!

hpny2: thanks too -- the princely pooch is the #1 floor sweeper in the new kitchen

I'm still here, working on rooms and moving on to my next kitchen update.

Gorgeous kitchen! Do you mind sharing dimensions of banquette? Length and depth of the benches?

Thank you !

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Very pretty.

What is the appliance next to the refrigerator?

I thought that was a microwave, but that's apparently in an upper cabinet.

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

belabama, lazygardens, thanks!

The banquette is about 74x63x26 in total. It is the Coventry modular system from Ballard Designs, with storage in each seat. I chose this system to give the flexibility to switch to a standalone table in the future. The seat itself is 20 inches deep.

the appliance next to the fridge is a warming drawer (an older Viking model).

What a beautiful transformation! I love everything about it! Goes into my inspiration file; the details are phenomenal

RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

I love your kitchen and have been carrying copies of your pictures around with me since November 5th.

My Kitchen is 12 x 28, measurements are close to your space.

I had a cabinet guy out a few weeks ago and when he asked what I wanted in the kitchen, I shared with him our selection of appliance and told him that is all I want to say and asked him to look it over and give me thoughts on what he would do. He measured, stood around looking for an additional 5 minutes and then started to describe what he would do with the space. I said - hold on, went and got your pictures to share a visual of what he was verbally describing - we got a good laugh.

I would like to ask - have you found the flow to work well for you around the island and do your guest tend to gather around it?

RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Every detail is gorgeous! Your dog even matches your kitchen! Great job. I love everything about it.

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Thanks so much g8day, Mags438 and perky! I really appreciate that.

perky_2: wow, what a great story! I'm so honored that you kept some pictures in your file and that they came in handy for your space. The layout is working very well for us, nine months in. The dog even knows to take the outside aisle when someone is working in the main work triangle. People will cluster at the bar and the banquette works well (although the legs probably could have a bit more clearance). Good luck with your space, and be sure to post your layout.

RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

This was the first time I saw your kitchen reveal. I echo all the compliments that have been written!

Unless I missed it, I didn't see a source for your counter stools. I may be replacing mine when we remodel and they need to have backs AND swivel, which is very hard to find in a more traditional design. Would you mind sharing where you found them?

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Gooster, what size is your Iron Tones prep sink?

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

amck: Thanks! The stools are from Ballard Designs, the Marlowe in Green Apple velvet. They have stock fabrics and do C.O.M. They are working out quite well.

romy: The Iron Tones has an inner dimension of 16x21 (width). I'm so glad a colleague told me to make the prep sink big enough (size and depth) to be useful, and to install the second disposal. It is big enough to hold a turkey or watermelon, or a big colander full of veggies.

RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

I do have a question, I thought I had found your design layout at one time but can't seem to locate it now. Do you have a link to that post?

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Thanks for getting back to me about the counter stools. I'll check them out.

 o
RE: Reveal: Long & Narrower White, Grey & Green EIK

Perky: Here is the cabinet-only layout -- note the actual final sizes are mostly overwritten on the sizes. (lots of adjustments to standard sizes)

amck: You are welcome.

Oh my, Oh my! Simply stunning. What a great job you have done.

Your thorough post with pictures and info has answered some of my design questions. I love the countertop/backsplash combination.

Congratulations, and best wishes for many years of enjoyment.

Love your Corgi, too.
