I'm getting tired of all stainless and like to see a bit of warm bronze... but I'm not a kitchen designer or on top of the trend either:)

I'd want to know what's going on with other hardware, fixtures, etc. and in the rest of the house before voicing an opinion. Are you leaning contemporary or traditional or something else?

We will have white shaker/soapstone/stainless appliances/(no subway), and are using bronze cabinet hardware.

Oaktown-Our home is traditional and kitchen is open to dining room living room area separated only by a large peninsula. Kind of like a row house. So the kitchen will be visible from the front door. I like the stainless because it will be more neutral. On the other hand, I like bronze as it would be more traditional and formal.
Did you say you are planning your kitchen in the similar style?

Maybe get some samples and do a mock-up?
And look at lots and lots of photos on houzz?

Our kitchen is under construction or I would take photos for you. But yes, we will have white shaker cabs, soapstone counters, stainless appliances. We chose bronze cabinet hardware because we wanted some warmer elements in the kitchen (for example, windows and exterior doors will be stained, not painted). Also liked the darker bronze for contrast since we're not planning to oil our counters. In our case, the particular hardware we chose (from Rocky Mountain Hardware) is more rustic than formal.

I think bronze finishes will see their day pass soon, and that is sad because I have several areas invested in bronze hardware. I see distressed finishes remaining popular... for example, iron oxide, pewter, swedish machined, etc. A good classic white metal works for a long time.

Sorry, maybe I misunderstood. Millie19 were you asking about bronze material hardware, or bronze-colored hardware? Because bronze itself is not necessarily brown -- I think the "silvery" bronze still is warmer in tone than stainless or nickel (see link).
