I am replacing formica with 3cm granite.

With no laminated edge on the 3cm granite, I will have a 1/2" area exposed above my white cabinets. (because the window framing is 1/2" higher than the cabinets and I need to add deck)

Has anyone here been faced with covering this 1/2" of exposed decking above the cabinets, and if so, did you use a trim piece?

I think my options to hide the deck are:

-2cm granite with laminated edge- I absolutely want 3cm.
-Trim piece under granite. Cheapens the look of the cabinets.
-Laminate the entire front of cabinet bases to attempt a more seamless front which would extend to underneath granite.
-Any more ideas?

Kind of set on 3cm Granite and will make great efforts to make it happen, short of constructing new cabinets.
