Oh what fun this kitchen remodel is. Just when we were all set blowing the budget on the cabinets and backsplash, now a new wrinkle!

We're going with Hanstone White Specchio quartz. However, we currently have a blue pearl granite with a monster 3" skirt around the fronts ... I initially thought we'd just put the 2cm slab down and be done with it, but now that I'm really looking at this all together, I'm thinking a 1.5" skirt looks really sharp.

On the island, we're going to have a 16" overhang which apparently can't be supported any other way than with a steel frame & plywood sub deck, so we'll need to conceal that all anyway.
