Two Tone - Peek in the midst of coming together

I waffled over posting a pic of my kitchen in the midst of being put together. We are doing a two tone kitchen. Black stained "slate" maple lowers and painted white uppers. I received so much great help here on GW, from direct layout help and also so much info reading about countertops, etc. We are doing leathered steel gray on the perimeters. All the blacks were too black for the cabinets. The "Blue Steel" as I liked to call it at the granite place, was just right. (Yes, the employees probably thought I was odd.) I just kept coming back to it. Just the right amount of black and gray to compliment the slate stain. The island is going to be Carrara Marble. I initially planned the granite for everything, but the honed marble they had was just to perfect with the black and white. And, YES, I'm fin with imperfect. I think everything in my life has some blemish and patina. I have five kids, so I just roll with it.

Thanks for indulging my excitement.
