how to fix soapstone chips

I was just looking at a post about how soapstone chips...which it does. There is a way to fill chips if one wants to. First you create soapstone powder by sanding a piece of soapstone. (I saved the powder from sanding our counter after installation.) Next you mask off the area around the chip with blue tape. Then you mix the powdered rock with epoxy and use the mixture to fill in the chipped area. Remove the blue tape after a few hours. After it dries, you can sand it. (You should wait several weeks to do the sanding until the epoxy is completely cured or use a respirator if you don't want to wait.)
