Add the hardware... what harm if people try to pull them? lol

We have 2 places where we have dummy hardware. One is on a peninsula/half wall that separates our dining area from our small sitting area:

It's the cabinet in the middle. The 2 cabinets flanking it can be opened from either side. The ''dummy'' cabinet has a bookcase on the other side. No one has ever tried to open it.
The other place is on our island:

See the blue towel there? That's because even I was trying to open that (non)cabinet the first few months.

I have it on my sink bases in bathroom and kitchen. Personally, it looks more consistent with hardware.

I think it depends. If it's an obvious decorative panel I would say no. If it looks like a cabinet and looks like it should have hardware, why not?

And depending on the hardware I would say no on the sink base: sometimes people will catch clothing or a belt loop on it, and some people say they don't like rubbing against it if they are at the sink. (But this depends on the size and shape of the hardware.)

I have the same setup on my small island. I did dummy drawer fronts and put same pulls on the dummy panel. I like symmetry/balance. DH pulled one of them once.
