Kitchen faucet, not your usual problem

I searched and didn't come across my issue. I want to replace a kitchen faucet. My problem is size. I'm too big to get under and reach up through one of the double doors.

Has anyone cut the vertical style between the double doors to facilitate repairs? I'm thinking of a metal bracket screwed into the back of the wood to hold it after I make repairs and put the vertical piece back in.

Your idea will work, however I suggest you cut your style with the linked saw:

You may be able to find a similar one at Harbor Freight for $13.00 or so.

While you're there, you may want to pick up a faucet wrench. With all the tools you're buying you could probably hire a skinny plumber.
