Help! Pre-sealed marble tile?

EDIT: Disregard, got a call from the tile store, they checked with the supplier and the tile is, indeed, already sealed.

When I picked up my tile (Calacatta, honed, subway) the person at the store I bought it from stressed that I should be sure the installer sealed it. I passed that on to my GC and to the tile guy, who looked dubious.
When he finished putting it up and said he was leaving for the day I asked him again about sealing it. He told me the tile not only didn't need to be sealed but should not be sealed. He said it already has a finish on it and the sealer would not absorb and would just sit on the surface and eventually dry, leaving marks and ruining the look of the tile. He put some sealer on an extra tile and it did just what he said it would, it puddled on top of the tile.

I've got a call in to the tile store. Tile guy is gone for the day.

Has anyone got experience with anything like this?
