My husband and I are planning a kitchen addition and decided to purchase a 48" gas range top (still deciding on the brand). We are also looking at a number of different range hoods. I am 5'4" and I am having a terrible time with the lights from the range hood shining in my eyes. The brightness from the lights sends me into a terrible migraine. We have been told we can install the hood slightly lower, but that doesn't seem to be a good option for my taller husband. Can anyone suggest a hood that has either lights that can be angled toward the back or have a cover/hood over the bulbs to alleviate this problem? I can't be the only cook out there that is sensitive to the lights. Any recommendations?
