OK. I found the kitchen. It was circuspeanut who did the DIY copper counters. I've posted another thread and hoping circuspeanut will help me out. However, if anyone knows where I can get this bread box please help. Thanks.

Was it mine by any chance? If so, I got it in East Berlin in the 80s. It's the classic German breadbox design. But sometimes you can find imported ones in antique stores or on eBay!

Well the photo certainly helps. It looks like Stacks and Stacks has something similar and there is a bunch if you go google shopping for enamel breadbox. I found one in white or black which is not nearly as sweet as circuspeanuts

circuspeanut-Yours is the bomb! I have a cousin who lives in Germany. Wonder if they still are sold there?? I'll have to contact him. My nephew is also on his way to Munich to do his post doctoral work. If they are still sold there I could get it for Christmas when my nephew comes home for the holidays. Thanks for the info!!

those are sooo cute...darn it...I always keep my bread in the freezer, otherwise it goes bad before we can eat it.

Maybe I'll get one and PRETEND there's bread in it.
