Slide-in height over countertop?

Hi, All-

Have a new-to-me Wolf 36" slide-in cooktop. It is completely smooth on the sides-no flange or anything that contacts the side counters.
As I'm getting ready to modify my existing cabinet to accommodate (old cooktop was a drop-in), I'm wondering how much reveal is normal to incorporate between the top edge of the cooktop and the top of the adjoining counters.
flush doesn't seem right to me-I feel like 1'-1 1/4" higher than the counter looks best.
I'm planning on dressing the gap between the counter and the Wolf with stainless. The counters are butcher block.
Thanks in advance! Jeff
