Seam location in granite counter thoughts

First timer posting here. We're in the process of layout our counter top template on a slab of Peacock granite. The counter is an L configuration and will require a seam. I curious for opinions regarding where to have the seam and what people like or dislike about their choice. The fabricator has given us two choices for where we'd like the seam, either in the middle of the undermount sink (we have an East facing window above it) or around the corner on the other leg of the L. In the middle of the sink is obviously the smallest seam being just in front and just behind the sink and possibly but not necessarily more noticable. The other location (around the corner of the L) will be just barely left of a main food prep area but can be an even tighter seam since he can use his best equipment there. The fabricator has given us good information about pros and cons of both locations but we only get to cut once. Peacock is a dark granite with no real "grain" or direction and we do have under cabinet lighting. Any thoughts or pictures are appreciated.

My vote is in the middle of or on either side of the under mount sink. Less seam the better!

I do not have a seam by my sink but I do have a seam on each end of my cooktop. My granite is also peacock verde. The seam is barely noticeable. So if your fabricator does a good job on the seam is should look something like this:

I had to make the same decision. My fabricator recomended that I avoid the sink seam since its the highest use area in the kitchen. I seamed before the L turn and its fine so far. I have a light colored granite.

I seamed near the corner too. If they're using that equipment that pulls the seam together, I think you should take advantage of it. I have a solid light colored quartz and you can barely see the seam.

Thank you! May_Flowers - Yes, I believe they use the equipment that pulls the seam together but they can only use it away from the sink which is why the mid sink seam could be less tight (but smaller) than around the corner.

Dilly_NY - yes, our fabricator also suggested that the sink tends to be highly used and with natrual light from the window has the potential to show the seam more. Still, we feel the smaller the seam the better too.

By the way, ignore some of what the fabricators tell you. When we had templating they said a lot of things that seemed counter (no pun intended) to what my plan was, and it made me think twice and consider changing my plan. For example, he told me most people only have ~1/4" overhang counter projection from the cabinets! I am SO glad I did not listen to that and made them a larger overhang.

I have a seam by my sink and it turned out fine. My granite is pretty busy though. My parents just installed peacock granite in their MB. It's very pretty and I dont think the seam will be that noticable given the character of the granite...

I have 2 seams - one in the corner and one through the cooktop.
My old kitchen had a seam through the sink - I hated it - plus eventually it delaminated (laminate top) but not sure if it would matter with the quartz or granite.
They key is a good template and installer - I can barely find the corner seam and can barely feel the seam at the cooktop!

The pictures look more prominent - but in reality - hard to find!

RE: Seam location in granite counter thoughts

My fabricator discouraged me from placing it around the sink, said it would be weak because it was such a narrow strip. So we opted to have it over in the corner of the "L". Can you see it? Yeah, if you know where you are looking. Does it bother me? Not really. The granite that we selected is bold patterned and variable, so I think they did a pretty decent job of making it as inobtrusive as possible. I think you can help a bit with that in the templating process when you are selecting where each part of the larger slab will go. And if your granite has a more "uniform" pattern, I think it will be even less noticeable.
