Unfortunately, a Shaw's isn't in our budget for our new kitchen (in our new house) to be built next year. But we do have an Ikea not too far away, so the main clean-up sink is the Domsjo double-bowl apron-front sink, and the prep sink on the island will be the Domsjo single-bowl apron-front sink. Not a very helpful answer, I'm afraid! And yes, I do prefer a double-bowl sink for my washing up : ).

I was so nervous (or paranoid, I suppose) that Ikea would discontinue the sinks (which I've heard can be hard to find anyway in some cities), that we bought them last month, even though we aren't starting construction until next spring...

But I don't think they need to be matching, unless that's what you like. I have wanted a Belfast sink for the past 25 years, since graduating from university, so nothing besides budget was going to change my mind!

I have a fireclay prep sink, too, a Rohl:

It's about 14" inside, 8" deep. Plenty of room for me.

Ours will be a stainless steel prep sink.

i have a 36" shaw's apron front and will be pairing it with an allia undermount also from rohl.

I will be having a Whitehaus white farm sink and a Blanco Silgranit prep sink-probably in anthracite color.

I have a white farm sink and a round copper prep sink that is 18" in diameter and 9" deep.

I love them both.

We're doing a white farmhouse main sink and a stainless prep sink from mrdirect. They are at opposite ends of the kitchen with different finish faucets and different counter top materials.

Ok, so it's fair to say anything goes design wise! For those who posted photos, thanks, beautiful sinks!

How about practicality---I have never had a fireclay sink so are there things that would make SS or silgranit more practical to have as a backup, or are they about equal in performance/durability?

Does anyone know where i can get a round white prep sink in the 14-15 inch range? I only see round Shaws at 18 inches, which feels too big for me. I dont HAVE to have round but it looks interesting and mount the faucet (that I have not picked out) on the side so I can access it from both sides of the island.

I think the stainless looks good but noticed most people had their sinks far apart when mixing types and mine are REALLY close.
