Backsplash Tile Remover Rec in NYC area?

Posted by michelle12345678 (My Page) on

I am redoing my counters and backsplash and the stone yard will install but will not remove my backsplash (which goes up to the upper cabinets which I am not changing so I need someone to be careful taking the current slate tile backsplash off). Any recommendations? I might need someone also to lay the backsplash tile (the stone yard only does counters and possibly the backsplash if it's one piece. I am in downtown Manhattan. Thanks.

Thanks. What is his specialty and what is his company etc?

Gary has insurance. He does pretty much everything including plumbing. Tiling, carpentry, etc. Ask him for references. They are good.

I'm not in NYC, but when I hired my contractor to do the backsplash he gave me an estimate for removal of old tile, removal of countertops, and plumbing faucet hookup (after counters and sink are in) for the same price that the countertop installers were going to charge me to remove the countertops and hookup the plumbing. So I basically got the tile removal for free since I was planning on paying the installers for the other items.

If your installers are charging you for these items separately it may be worth seeing if you can get a similar deal.
