If you ask nicely on some of the forums you might find someone here willing to help. I know there are several people on the home decorating forum that do this willingly for other posters. Some people enjoy doing it, so you may just have to ask.

If you don't find someone here, try the retouching forum at dpreview.com. Actually an architect/draftsman is the last kind of person to ask, since they never use PS (they work with computer assisted drawing programs).

Another thing would be to invest a hundred bucks or less in a copy of Photoshop Elements and learn to do it yourself. Then you'll have the skills to keep a diary of all your renovations and have great looking photos.

And thanks for the pointer to Photoshop Elements. I've checked out that there is a Mac version and it's less than $100. Is that what people use? I thought it was that very expensive Adobe product. I'll download the trial version from Adobe, if they have one, and give it a shot.

No, you need full photoshop if you want to prepare stuff for commercial four-color printing or if you're a photographer who does a huge volume of image processing, but for this sort of thing, PSE works fine.

Adobe had some problem with some of their trials and I don't think the PSE trial will be available again till July 1.

As for what you need, you need someone who can use PS. Ask over at dpreview or read around that forum. Those folks do things like turning day into night, etc. If you ask nicely, someone may do it just for the heck of it.

In fairness, I should add that there's a learning curve to PSE, too. Just not as big a one as for full PS.

If you don't mind paying...I know one of our very own dear Gardenwebbers is trying to start her Photoshopping biz. She does very professional drawings (in my opinion) Try emailing Squirrelheaven and see if she's got her business going yet. I'm not sure where she stands with it.
