I've read some posts in which gardenwebbers mentioned they were using repurposed slate slabs from pool tables for their counters, but couldn't find any finished photos or threads.

So, does anyone here have pictures of their kitchen with pool table slate counters? Did you DIY the install or not?

I've just gotten hold of 1" thick lovely slate for my kitchen reno. I'm not worried about staining, scratching, etc (I've read conflicting reports on whether it does or not). I currently have cherry butcher block we've had for several years and so am used to (and like) a countertop with an ever-changing patina of wear. I would love to see slate 'in action' and hear experiences with using repurposed slate.
