Cambria Cheese Board?

Posted by weimom (My Page) on

I remember reading a while back about a2gemini receiving a cheese board from Cambria after her counter tops were installed. Has anyone else received this? I was wondering if there is any chance that I may be so lucky too. I sure bought enough of it, lol!

I remember another post and brought up the idea with my KD. Not sure if she helped or if Cambrian does it automatically. But it sure is pretty.
Let us know if you get a surprise!

I did receive one too..It came about 2 weeks after the quartz was installed. I was pleasantly surprised by the gesture. I tend to use it for lots of things...trivet, cut on it etc. It's bullet-proof. Now I know the countertops can take a beating, but I still baby them.
I don't know if the KD plays a role in getting one or not.
Hope you get one too.

I got one with my Caesarstone. The only time I've ever used it is when I lugged it around to tile stores when I was shopping for a backsplash. I just assumed everyone who gets a counter gets one.

I never got one with my caesarstone.
:(

Probably a sink cutout.

Annie, you can have mine. :)

I sure haven't gotten one either. :( Is it the same thickness of the countertop? Could someone post a picture for me? I told my GC about it but he said he was not aware of anything like that. He is so sweet though and found a piece of my scrap and said he would try to see if the fabricator could come up with something.

Thanks, linelle, you are too kind....but I really don't want one....too heavy and not good for your knives....

If it's a function of the fabricator, I got a lot of stuff out of him, so I'm happy...he had a remnant piece of granite which I used for my 5' guest bath vanity and he only charged me labor for it....

RE: Cambria Cheese Board?

My cheese board that came from cambria is just under 1/2 inch thick and polished on the sides. It is 14 long by 11 wide.

It is not very heavy - about the same weight as an average cutting board.

I would not use it as a cutting board (although technically large enough) but it will make a nice cheese board or other appetizers (wanted to use the french spelling but auto correct wouldn't let me)

It does have little rubber feet to elevate it slightly (more than just the tabs) (and if any of you are old enough to remember the Rockwell calculator commercial - big green numbers and little rubber feet LOL)

Mine came directly from Cambria.

No time to post a picture right now - maybe this weekend. I go into marathon training starting this afternoon. I am hoping the class on Saturday is canceled as so far no one has registered for this class (Guess they don't want to work on Saturday either).

Mine is 12x14 and 3/4" thick, which the conversion table tells me is 2 cm, the thickness of my counter. I think it's too heavy to be practical. It has little stick-on feet. My real cutting board is one of those acrylic things from Target that I throw away periodically. I wouldn't use this as a cutting board or a cheese platter. It's just not my style.

That looks nice Linelle. I think it would be handy for lots of things.

Weimom, I know, it looks good in that photo. I stash it under my phone books in the bowels of my peninsula. It's just such a heavy beast.
