Looks great! And you're progress is moving at a rapid pace now. What do you have left to do besides hardware? Too bad there weren't enough HB entries. :(

I've gotta laugh when you say rapid pace since this remodel has taken about 3 years! We have hardware, a couple of door and drawer fronts to be tweaked, some filler, and yes; I most definitely need to find some cool outlet covers.

That is a very soothing to look at tile. I think it is because that looks like beach glass, and the ocean often makes people feel serene.

I love the contrast between the ss and bs. It looks like the veining is picking up the bs tones. Well done!

Gorgeous!!! I love the stainless and SS against the beach glass look of the tile. You must be so happy with it! I think if I were cooking in that kitchen and getting harried or frustrated, all I would have to do is look at that lovely serene tile to start smiling again. Bravo on a beautiful job!

I got the tile from the glasstilestore.com. It's from the large format ones and listed as spa green frosted. I had gotten alot of samples from all over the place that were nice but this was just too perfect with the ss. In the realm of how expensive some tiles are they weren't bad at all (try to explain that to DH but he still thought it was extreme) at $15 a square foot. It's hard to explain but I am so in love with my kitchen. I know I've said this before, but I have not one single regret or anything I would change. Except to maybe be actually done with fillers, drawer tweaks, etc. Thanks so much for you kind words. I can't believe that I can actually see the finish line and when I get hardware be one of those who get to post 95% finished kitchen thread. I honestly never ever thought it would happen, and I mean that literally. THANKS!

Wow! Glad I asked. Just checked out the website, and they're doing samples for $1.99 and free shipping for a limited time. Snagged myself quite a few samples... although I need to pick my countertop before thinking about the backsplash. But hey, at least I'll be prepared when the time comes!

It's beautiful. And I have to commend you and/or your tilesetter for the "random" layout of the tiles. So often there is an attempt at random that is really just a large pattern. Yours really works.

It looks amazing! Love the tile! Perfect choice for your Monsoon Wave. Love the hood, too! Such an unusual shape. Can't wait for the final reveal.

jakabedy... thanks for noticing! I showed my tile setter exactly what I wanted. His English is way better then my Spanish so between the two of us it worked out. It actually is a pattern of sorts. I had the running bond done 1/3 then 1/2 then 1/3 and so on. Learned about it at some point on here I'm sure. I had over 3 years to stuff info so it was awesome to put it to use.

You have every right to be in love with your kitchen. Not only have you exercised superb taste, you have -- for instance -- covered a fair amount of the state trying to get the right pastry table and countertop for it. The results show the attention of detail.

Within the last couple of days, someone posed a question about glass tile becoming dated. I did not read the thread, so I am not sure what kind of tile was on offer, but your tile is forever, along with its well matched other surfaces.

My reward for such gushing should be more pics posted post haste, don't you think?

REmodelfla: It is truly lovely and you should be so proud of what you have pulled off. I am unbelievably envious of that monsoon soapstone...my kitchen couldn't take such movement, but in another world, it would have been the love of my life.

    Enjoy and congrats!

I'm in So. Florida Red..... Hollywood to be exact. The hood is Vent A Hood. I ordered it along with my frig and DW from AJ Madison. The two ovens and the induction cooktop were craigslist finds that I held onto for well over a year. Crazy I know, but it worked out for us perfectly... I'm very grateful for that.

And I guess this space really reflects me, cause I'm all about the beach and being outside. It's funny; DH was worried about my transitioning from my big house to this small 2 bedroom house. But it's more then enough space since the only time I'm not outside (where I am now) I'm in the kitchen or sleeping.

Hood, soapstone and tiles look beautiful. You've done a great job with your kitchen. Our FL weather has been so nice, I know why your in that pool!

I like it a lot- looks great.

I am looking forward to your comments about the hood once you start using it. A chef that works in one the many appliance stores we visited said "only vent a hood" but they had none in the store to test and it is hard to commit to somehthing I had never seen working...

    Remodelfla,

I logged in just to say I am so proud of you and your beautiful kitchen. I think we joined here about the same time to start research for total kitchen remodels and it is sooo good to see yours come to fruition. It is beautiful and all of the wait, research, and hardwork have definately payed off. I would sooo be at your party if I lived closer. I forsee you enjoying many, many, many happy days in your kitchen preparing amazing food and baking perfect confections with your pastry table. Enjoy!

For some reason I really don't like the expression "kitchen porn"... but my oh my, remodelfla, your kitchen is IT! (Maybe I'm just a kitchen prude.)

That's a fabulous hood. I already said it before, but your kitchen just keeps getting better and better. :)

I was suprised to see this pop up again... Thank you! I do admit I love love love my kitchen. I'm ordering hardware today and will post more pics when I get them installed. Still have finish panels, a couple of drawers/doors, toe kicks, and fillers to deal with but I'll probably get to hardware first.
