Marble countertop remnant question...

I may have the chance to buy two smaller pieces of marble...approx. 15" x 25". I'm thinking of using them on either side of the range. Is it difficult or expensive to have these sanded/trimmed down a bit?

I'm guessing it would be better to have the little cabinets on each side of the range made to fit the marble...but just wondering. Thanks in advance :)

Oh, and staining/etching is not a concern...

I wouldn't let the size of marble remnant dictate my cabinet size.

That said, it is not difficult to trim marble, therefore, it shouldn't cost you much at all.

Thanks for the responses!

The marble is about 3/4 of an inch thick. Will that work for a counter top? If not, would it be okay for a baking area on another surface?

Also...how much are marble pieces? Would a small piece like one of these cost more than $100 normally?
