Layout Thoughts - Peninsula, Banquette

All opinions welcome as we begin a mostly DIY kitchen remodel (or the DH is, anyway!) Thanks in advance!

The kitchen's currently a galley-style with the fridge on the sink side. We're putting a peninsula (no room for an island) where the fridge was and lengthening the cabinet run on the opposite wall.

The 'top-left' corner of the layout image are half-walls that open up to a family room. It's a higher level, so taking them down would not necessarily be helpful (and the corner post has to stay anyway).

We initially thought about putting seating on the backside of the peninsula, but it felt like we'd have wasted space between the stools and the half wall. Now we're leaning more towards building a banquette in the corner instead.

Main Questions:
1. Peninsula Seating vs Banquette - Agree with our logic? Or is there a better use of space?

2. Is the length of the Peninsula too short? too long?

3. Should we flip the fridge and double oven placement?
