My granite has a crack!

Our granite was installed on Friday and I noticed a crack in it :(

Yes, a CRACK. I didn't really know what to do and was very upset by the whole thing. Luckily the fabricator has been great about working with me on this. He sent someone out there immediately to look at it and try to do something about it, but it really didn't fix the area. I thought we were doomed because there wasn't any more granite left from our slabs. BUT, today, he called me into the shop and gave me a large slice to take home to see if the coloring of another slab he has would work...I think it's a good match. Now, I'm really nervous about the removal process.

Anyone with any advice on removing a piece and trying to replace it?

Here's a couple of pictures of the crack:

The piece they are replacing is at the end of the run of counters and is about 38inches wide.

I'm nervous about the seam match, the removal of the counter piece and if it will cause damage to the underlying cabinets or cause damage to the adjacent granite piece.

I'm wondering if there is anything that I need to be careful of during this process.

Any advice would be much appreciated!
