A design without the associated product that it's designed to be used with is almost worthless. If it's a full custom layout, then you need to use the cabinet line that your KD designed the layout in for it to actually work. Some things cannot be done at all in cheap lines. If it's desiigned for 39 1/2" H cabinets, there is only a handful of lines that can do that. Also, unless the designer also is providing shop diagrams, no custom maker is going to be able to take it and build custom cabinets without doing a bunch of work.

On the other hand, if it's a very simple plan, using stock sizes with zero customization, maybe another retailer can translate that to the lines that they sell. But, not without also doing a lot of work to translate it into the specs of the particular line you choose.

I don't know what price you were quoted flr your project, but most people end up with sticker shock from their initial quotes. Standard barometers for budgeting for cabinetry would be 40% of your whole kitchen remodel budget, or 22K for the national average 55K kitchen remodel. For an upscale remodel, the numbers basically double. If you've gotten numbers within that range, then you are ''average''.

I'd check out Barker cabinets. No personal experience, but I have seen positive reviews here. Don't forget to take assembly costs into account (or be willing to assemble yourself) as they are RTA (ready to assemble).
