Has anyone seen a sink with a back platform like this?

I saw a sink at IKEA this past week that I love in one particular way. It has this fabulous back platform (7" wide). The faucet hole is in this platform. If this sink was one large sink, I would buy it in a heartbeat. But it is a two-section sink, and each section is smaller than the 2/3 + 1/3 sink I have now. I KNOW I don't want a sink section that small (about 15"). Does anybody know of a sink that is either a single bowl or a 1/3 + 2/3 configuration, with the back platform? Oh, and cast-iron or fireclay only please.

Were you pointing me to your stainless sink in the attached link? It is GORGEOUS and definately has a deck like I want, but I am looking for cast iron or fireclay. Does that sink come that way, do you know?

You do know Ikea has a large single bowl version of that sink?

Well, I feel rather foolish .... I was not aware there was a single bowl version. They didn't happen to have it out, and there was no sales help to be had (that's the way it is on weekends at IKEA, just ludicrously busy). I may take a run up tomorrow and look at it. If anyone else has any sinks, I'd love to consider those as well.

No problem. I know the ikea near me tends to always use the same items in many kitchens instead of trying to show off all the different possiblities. The single domsjo is a really nice sink.

I love the looks of the single bowl domsjo but it really isn't all that big of a sink, though. Fits in a 24'' base so the internal dimensions are going to be quite a bit smaller--maybe only something like 22'' wide?

Well, it kind of overlaps the edges, so you do pick up a bit of space there. It's certainly no substitute for a 30" farm sink, but it's pretty generously sized.

Yes, ci_lantro, you are right. But I've got a 1/3 + 2/3 sink right now, with the largest side being 19" on the inside. And it is truly big enough. I don't remember ever having an issue. So the domsjo should feel positively luxurious!

I installed an Ikea Domsjo sink in my second/rental kitchen and a Shaw's 30" sink in my main kitchen. Both sinks are great! While the Shaw's sink is clearly bigger, heavier, more stately looking-- the Domsjo is no slouch! As Writersblock says, it is quite "generously sized" and infinitely more affordable than the Shaw's. Overall, a very good deal, indeed.
