You need the spec/installation diagrams for the sink -- those are essential. The fabricator needs that document and the contractor should have it as well.

Look for this on the sink's page on the Kohler website under specifications. Urgent.

The specs and template came with the sink. Do you have framed or frameless cabinets? I have frameless and I can explain our solution.

Your template shows the measurements for the rim of sink. We basically used that measurement to provide a ledge for the rim to sit on and recessed it so it would be flush. DH attached blocking along the entire back side of the cabinet and routed just enough out of the sides of the cabinets and the blocking so the sink rim can sit on it and be flush. I also added several layers of weldbond to all of the cut surfaces (let dry between coats) to seal.

For this photo, I moved the sink so you could see the routing.

Here's a shot of the sink resting in it's notched support. Be sure the fabricator knows it should be a zero reveal.

Thanks for responses, yes the template and install instructions came with sink, but they use clips that require attachment to the granite underside, however not enough room in cabinet to do so and I don't know if these clips are the best and are some other options. Thanks for the pictures above, that does help. I do think our cabinets are framed though, not sure if makes a difference.

The clips that are included are not for a stone install, rather for laminate or wood. I was going to use the harness, but it ended up not needed since our first fabricator told us the sink rim had to be flush, therefore recessed. It is a very solid support, basically an mdf/wood harness.

Yes that is what my husband and fabricator were thinking basically a wood harness around outside of cabinet. I just wanted to check around and make sure not overlooking anything.
