What are your concerns? Safety of the product? Durability? Working conditions at the factory? Hard to say if it is "okay" without know what okay means to you.

Actually all of those things matter to me. I thought all Lenox was made here, but now that I know it's not, I feel I should look into all those things. All I've been able to do so far is live-chat with a salesperson who didn't seem to have any information.

I'm not an expert, but when I was looking for dishes I became aware that lead is a concern. I made sure I bought 'lead free' dishes. I was surprised that so many dishes are actually made with lead. I think there may be other concerns, but that is a big one.

I ended up buying Fiestaware because they make their dishes lead free. It's not even easy to find out from companies if they have lead in their dishes, but Fiesta makes a point of putting it out there. So I got tired of the other manufacturers attempts to make it hard to figure that out and I went with Fiesta. I'm very happy with my dishes. Ovenproof, dishwasher safe, microwave safe.

I'd consider to what extent lead and cadmium could leach out.

I have casual Lenox and most of it was made in either Indonesia or Thailand (yeah, I forgot which...). Some pieces I added later (random salad plate, etc.) were made in USA. They are all durable and good quality, but the USA ones (these are marked and the others aren't) aren't from the exact mold--they are a tiny bit chunkier which you can tell when stacked.

Anyway, good quality. I don't know about the other issues.

Fiesta of course HAS to make a big deal about no lead because the old Fiesta famously DID have lead.

fori, I didn't realize they used to have lead in their dish ware. Well, I'm all for someone correcting their mistake.

Everyone with cool glazes did back then. They also haven't used radioactive glazes in years. :)
