Ceramic Bead Board BS opinions

I really want to use a Ceramic beadboard, but the tallest it comes is 24" (12 x 24), so I'm trying to be creative so there there are no seams at my cooktop. I thought I'd combine the beadboard and 3 x 6 tile (same manufacture/color) and for two of them, include a matching pencil liner to define the tile. Your thoughts? (Three pictures to come) Trying too hard? Is 3 x 6 simpler/better?
