Question regarding wood grains on countertops

I am designing a kitchen with wood countertops that will run around the perimeter of the kitchen. On the island we will have a Paperstone countertop.

I would like the countertops to be 1.75 inches thick (deep).

On the east wall, I would like an end grain piece of 24 inches. Then the 48 inch range. Then there is an L-shaped piece which has (on the outside) a 44" leg and a (outside) 96" leg. The farmhouse undermount sink is inset in the long leg. I thought we might do a 19' piece on the short leg (with end grain) and then one long 96" piece (with edge grain) that would join. It would NOT be a miter joint.

My question: is it possible (or even a good idea) to join the grains in this way? I like the symmetry of the end grain on either side of the range. I have had this kind of joint (not miter) on a similar L-shaped kitchen countertop that worked beautifully, but in that case, both pieces were edge grain.

Thank you for your advice.
