I haven't used the WS product. I ordered the wax from Holland Bowl 7 yrs ago when we installed. Still have more than 1/2 the container left.

As I recall, the first waxing didn't leave a uniform look, which I think you mean by blotches. The following week I did it again - waxed, left overnight & buffed w/ a clean cloth the next morning. I'm quite sure I got a uniform darkened look the second time.

Since then I 've only repeated the waxing annually. I actually like the matte more charcoal-than-black look. The counters and island get regular use for prep & I roll pie/quiche dough directly on it. A good wash with dish soap and a warm water rinse is all the regular maintenance I do. Looks even prettier than new after all these years.

Thank you! That is a great idea to wax and leave overnight, I will do that next. I just received the Real Milk Paint sealer and tried a smidge and boy was that much easier than the BKG.

I saw the video on the Dorado website, that's what made me want to try a wax.

It since to hear your counters look great after seven years:)
