I was just reading a February 2012 post and someone asked about the sink reveal and wasn't that little edge of sink harder to clean. This was a big thing to me when I picked my sink and granite. My contractor all but forced me to get an undermount sink. I didn't want one because I thought it was nasty having the counter edge hanging over and all the mold and gunk could build up underneath that edge and you wouldn't even see it. I took a survey of my friends and everyone advised to go with the undermount. Then I learned about reveals. I told them I'd go with an undermount, but I wanted a positive reveal. They warned me about the caulk getting icky down the road, but did admit it could be replaced. I got my positive reveal, almost 2 years ago, and I love my sink! Love everything about it. I just found a thread on it too, from 2008 (http://ths.gardenweb.com/forums/load/kitchbath/msg061621313816.html). Thought I'd post in case others had the same thoughts or worries.

I think this is pretty much a matter of preference. I was good with the positive or the neutral reveal, but not the negative; I had visions of gunk under the lip of the granite that always needed washing away - blindly. I ended up with a neutral reveal and love it. With a positive reveal, though, you could have a cutting board that fit right in like on the Kohler Stages sinks. Just remember that your GC isn't going to be living in your kitchen and 3 days after the job is done he will have forgotten all about it. The Kohler sink:

I think I started that post. I found there was no middle ground and my DH liked the look at the negative reveal - so we went with a negative reveal. In retrospect, I might have liked the positive reveal - but I am happy with what we have (it is a small reveal)
