I am painting my honey oak kitchen cabinets with BM advance simply white. XIM latex X-tender says it can be mixed with latex paint to extend the drying time, so does Floatrol. Can I use them with BM advance, which is not a latex paint?

I tried XIM latex X-tender on two cabinets, and found as a result, the sheen is shinier than that if I mix with a little water. Can I mix the BM with a little water? With water, it dried faster than with extender. Without water or X-tender, the BM advance in the tray became thick fast.
