I wish I was posting my reveal, but alas, this reno is taking forever!!

I wanted to ask a question - we have put in custom mdf shaker cabinets, painted cloud white. They were installed in December and since then we have noticed there are surface cracks running down the drawer fronts coming from the holes drilled for the cup pulls.

Our cabinet maker is busily trying to fix them, but I wanted to know - if he sands and repaints them now, are we left with an inferior product that won't stand up to refinishing in the future when we need it?

Suggestions on next actions?
