| I just received my F&B paint Estate Eggshell French Gray that I'm planning on using on my kitchen island. Has anyone used this paint on their kitchen cabinet? I was wondering if you have to apply somesort of top coat such a polyurethane to protect your paint from chiping. Please help! |

| My friend Allison used that very same color on her island which is one of the most beautiful ever. It's a fabulous color. I also used F&B Dauphin eggshell on my cabinets. It's very durable once it cures. Things wipe right off. One of the reasons to use F&B has to do with the surface quality. No poly required IMO. |

| I think Amberley is using F&B – have you been following her DIY remodel? Poor thing is exhausted but everything is coming out *great*! Amberley is my new hero. :-) I would like to paint my own cabinets too but I’m extremely intimidated. Jeri |

| Rococogurl, thanks for your replay, Allison's island is beautiful!!!! What time of brush did you use? No brush marks? Did you do 3 coats? Jeri, I have not seen Amberley's remodel. Can you direct me to her site? I too was intimidated about painting my kitchen cabinets, but last year I took the plunge & went for it. I did my permiter cabinets using a cream color milk paint with a brown glaze. The results were fabulous, I surprised myself!!! I love milk paint but couldn't find the right shade of green so I went with F&B. |

| greenlola. Corona brushes and those skinny 4" rollers for the flat surfaces. Sand smooth + a good primer (Fresh Start works well) and then 2 coats. The paint is clay-based so it has excellent hiding qualities. I love the surface. Here's a b&a with my kitchen using Dauphin and Stony Ground. |

| Haven't been here in awhile. Thanks for linking my kitchen, RG. Greenlola, I did not paint so I don't know what type of brushes/rollers they used. There are no brush marks. Rococo knows her stuff, so I'm sure the brand she recommended is perfect. fyi, my island has a black based glaze, so it's not a true F&B French Gray. |

| Thanks greenlola. Yes, they are indeed the very same cabinets. This paint costs more than some brands but after 9 mos it is holding up perfectly and cleaning up beautifully -- both colors and all the finishes. I couldn't be happier. |

| rococogurl, I've admired your kitchen transformation over and over and over again. You've made the space amazing, and it looks so much more functional even though the changes were mostly cosmetic. Absolutely beautiful!! |

| can you post pictures of the painted cabinets? I painted mine and still don't like the glossy finish- it's not glossy enough for me!
We used Behr Primer and Paint in one- we have applied 3 coats thus far and I still don't like the finish :( |

| vida, my cabinet photos are linked here -- scroll up. However, the finish is eggshell and fairly matte. But that's the finish I was going for. Are you wanting a lacquered look? |

| I used F$B Old White. I love the finish. As Rococo said- it is very wipeable. My kids beat things up, and it has held up great so far. We are still working on our remodel (thus no new posted pics). French gray is a really beautiful color- I sampled it, but it was too green for the main cabs- I think I will be using it on a piece of furniture instead. |

Hi, I'm planning to paint my cabinets with FB Dimity Eggshell. I have a small 8x9 kitchen and wondered how much paint I would need to purchase? I've been inspired by all the great examples and suggestions! Thanks All! Any suggestions. |
