We have the Philips eW Profile ucl's. I read about them on the lighting forum. Quite happy with them, too. DH did the online purchasing so I can't recall where we bought them.

I also picked from the Lighting forum. I'm going with Maxlite self driven LED bars from Environmentallights.com. Both products seem to get great recommendations over there. I wanted dimmable and easy to work with. The Maxlite just need a power source (plug or hardwired) and that I can wrap my head around!

Plus I liked that EL will have one of their engineers spec our a system for you if you contact them with what you want to do and send you floorplan. They were great. Sent my plan, got a parts list a day or two later, called with a bunch of questions when I was ready to order, then they set me up with a cart full of what I needed based on the changes we made. I just had to log in, do a quick review to double check, and cash out.

I called just the other day with a question from my GC. The person that answered the phone transferred my right over to the engineer I worked with and I had an answer within a few minutes total. Very pleased so far, though they won't be installed for another 2-3 weeks.

We are going with Armacost brand from Home Depot. Very good reviews and less expensive than many other UCL setups that I have seen. Install looks easy enough. Cut to length and snap on a wire connector to daisy chain to the next strip. Peel off the backing and stick under the cabinet.

I will be installing an outlet above our cabinets for the power supply and it will be controlled by a switch. A single 30W power supply will do my whole not so small kitchen.

You could go wild and get the RGB setup and change the color as the mood dictates. We are just doing the white LED's for our kitchen.

I also used the Phillips eW Profiles. I chose them because they are direct-wired and dimmable. I never did bother to install the dimmer, however!

Seagull Linear LED. My contractor suggested them. They are dimmable, as I had requested, but I never use the dimmer on the UCL, as it turns out.

I also liked the Environmental lights.

Spent some cash but did the Adorne system from Legrand which combines outlets and light controllers/dimmers into one system. Lights are very shallow and do not project, plug molds look very sharp but not obvious from my angle of view. Will help my backsplash look less cluttered.

I used Kichler's Design Pro Series under cabinet LED lights. They have a built in transformer so they can be direct wired. They have a warm white light and the fixture is only 1/2 inch high. They come in several lengths and are available in white, silver or bronze. I have cherry cabinets and used the bronze finished lights under them.The lights are dimmable but I don't find them too bright so I never dim them. I bought the lights at a local lighting store.They were very helpful in figuring out exactly what I needed. Here is a night shot with the UCL on:

We used GMLarc LED bars - they are not the slimmest on the market, so we did use a trim board at the bottom of the cabinets. They do dim and I use the dimmer all of the time.
I also have wire mold "plug mold" UCL but have a few wall outlets which were not needed.

We had to move the lights back about an inch or so as they originally had shadows due to the trim. You can see the original mounting if you look closely.

Does anyone use Seagull undercabinet lighting anymore? It seemed big here about 8 years ago. We used it (based on recommendations from here) in our last house and DH would like to use it again (since he is familiar with wiring and installing it now). But if there is something better now I would like to know! Thanks!

We are using Juno pro series led lighting. They are dimmable and hardwired. When I went to the lighting store, I liked the warm color of the lights. They aren't in yet, so I can't say much more on how good they actually are. I'll keep you posted!

I don't remember our brand. It's not any of them that have been mentioned so far. We bought them from a local lighting store. They are the LED strips with 2-sided tape that stick UTC. The hook together in between. We have plugs above the cabinets where the transformer plugs in and we have them on a dimmer switch. These came in the softer (yellower) or the whiter (bluer) color. Our whole house is the bluer color, so that's what we got. I love them. Dim them every night and put them on high during the evening when working in the kitchen. I barely even use the other lights now.

I used the Designer Series from InspiredLED. (I forgot to check the Lighting forum! ). These are custom sized light bars with a diffuser, but are based on a dimmable 12V transformer. You can send them your cabinet plan and they will send you a quotation based on all the sizes and parts that you need (double check it first, though). On their advice, I also used some flexible tape to line my upper glass cabinets, as the flexible tape was needed to move around obstacles on the inside. The transformer hides under my sink cabinet, and is tied to a dimmer. My electricians were impressed not only with the product but with the price -- even their Lutron dimmer price was less than their wholesale cost.

I bought the max light bars as well. I bought them through my electric company bc it was the cheapest that way. Go on your power companies site and they'll have an online store and give you 20 percent off the price. Peco sold both the philips and max lights.

My local lighting company showed me the new MaxLite, just updated to 3 LED's per bulb in their 6 and 18" sizes (if I'm recalling correctly). Has a white diffuser and is direct wire with 0.88" profile. 2700 Kelvins. More LED's per inch is the change. It was plenty bright.

InspiredLED and I have been talking: gave them my kitchen design and measurements and they gave me a least expensive to date quote for their LED stick on tape uses low voltage wire, transformer and dimmer switch. This is a great solution for LED glass cabinets. InspiredLED won an Houzz 2013 award for lighting and cost competitiveness.

Unilume is direct wire built in transformer, low profile but way expnsive. Has advantages of phosporus coating, 90 CRI (color rendering index), 3000 kelvin (bright) or 2700 (warm). It'd love to be able to afford them due to my low profile light rail but doubt I will.

Good luck BuiltinVA. I think it's most helpful to go to a lighting store or two or three until you find a specialist really willing to work with your space requirements and your budget. It was all greek to me before i did this, but lighting is not my cup of tea.

Also, are you doing recessed lighting? If so, are you going with dedicated LED (meaning no chance for ICD or halogen in the fixture)? I stared up at a recessed LED bulb and couldn't handle how bright it was. Tad worried it's not the right light for me or desire for warm light at night not bright.
