Hood's in!

Sorry, more bad phone pics :(

Installed hood today. We love it.

Faber Pro Magnum 36 (600 cfm); it was the minimum cfm recommended for the range, but we think it will be more than adequate for the type of cooking we do :)

It exhausts straight out the back wall (about 12 inches). Tons of suction! I can't imagine what 1000cfms is like!

The range specs called for 42" of clearance from the range top to the bottom of the hood, but we went with 36" (42" just looked too high to us).

We selected this hood because of its clean lines. I also got a great deal on it. Ebay. $680.

We are now 99% done. Just waiting for our custom french doors to arrive (8 ft tall); they are already 3 weeks overdue. Once they are installed I'll take some better pics of everything.

Looks great! I plan to disregard the KA specs too...42" is way too high and they are the only ones that say that height. When we called them to inquire about it, they couldn't even come up with answers as to why it was 42". You made the right decision!

Gorgeous kitchen! The hood is perfect with your range. I love the clean lines. Your backsplash is perfect too. I very much look forward to seeing more pictures of your whole kitchen.

You will love this hood. I had the same one in our previous home and just ordered the same one again for our new home and Kitchen remodel. It has plenty of power and we received tons of compliments from everyone who came to our home including the KD. You got a fantastic buy on this hood. Enjoy your beautiful new kitchen.

The tile is 2x12 glass. We used Linen colored grout (looks white in the pic because of flash but it is a similar tone to the tile).
The color is 'Desert' and it is from the 'Bamboo' series (made by Bellavita Tile). The close up shows the white lines that run through the tiles.
The tile color is very close to the wall color so it has a really cool 'deepening' effect in person. The pics give the idea, but aren't a great representation.....

That hood is striking and looks great with the other elements. Your tile is lovely and unique. I think the mellow color with the shiny surface is a great combo ;)
