Screws showing on bottom od hood

We are almost finished with our kitchen remodel. There are some issues that need to be resolved. One is that there are screws showing at the bottom of the hood. The contractor said he would add the light molding that we put on the uppers, to hide the screws. But I'm not sure. Does anyone else have screws showing at the bottom of their hoods? BTW the hood is from Medallion.

What is in the top of the picture? The orientation is showing up wrong. Don't know what I am looking at. If that is a finished exposed side of something, no that doesn't look right or good.
