We have Hanssem cabinets that have been installed since August 2008. We got their cherry cabinets in the eureka style. The quality seems good and the cabinets are holding up well. Since we have not had them for long, I can't comment on how long they will stay nice. (I hope they will stay nice for a long time, since I can't imagine going through another remodeling project for a long time!)

Two things I see are diagonal in the corner... I'm still on the fence about it, but did that waste space compared to getting corner cabinets? Of course, they're a lot easier to get into, so there is a trade off.

We're looking at both of these lines too. One cabinet salesman said Apple Valley would be about 20% more, and he thought it was worth it basically because they tend to deliver fewer mistakes, have a smidge tighter construction, and have slightly better customization options. I definitely am taking his selling of that with a large grain of salt, though.

Another cabinet salesman at a different showroom suggested we didn't need to pay more for Apple Valley and would be very happy with Hanssem. Still waiting for a quote from the latter so we'll see what the price difference will be.

Thanks for the responses and showing the photos -- the Hanssem cabinets are very beautiful -- the Eureka style is one I am considering so it was nice to see the way they look in an actual layout. The price difference between Hanssem and Apple Valley is considerable (about $1400-$1500 for a 13.5 linear foot kitchen), and I think whatever quality difference would probably be not worth the extra expense. Now the only issue is finding a color that would go with my dark brown/taupe marble floor...

Just a few questions. It looks like the crown enhancer is much lighter in color than the rest of the kitchen, was that planned? Also, it looks like the door to the left of the hood has two cabinet pulls?

danccd: just saw this post- for anyone else reading- looks like the "two handles" is actually a cabinet door with one handle and a 3" pull out spice cabinet- the other handle.
