Hardware and Backsplash Help

My Maui condo has "Maui Dirt" (reddish) slightly textured 13" diagonal tile floor throughout, including the kitchen. The kitchen is interior, 9 X 9 in a "U" shape. Two walls meet in the rear corner and have upper cabinets. The third side of the "U" is open over the sink, looking out into dining area and on through sliders to the lanai and partial ocean view. (Lots of green and blue out there.)

We're refacing cabinets with new laminate doors in a light shade of "bamboo" with vertical striations. The solid Corian countertop with integral double sink is bisque. I'm buying bisque appliances that closely match the countertop.

I'm stuck on the material and color for backsplash to provide a little relief to all this 'calm'. I'm also unsure what material the hardware and sink faucet should be. (The condo is in a rental pool when we are not there, so I need to be 'practical'.)

Possible backsplash of beige tile, but with inset tiles with colorful sea-life? AFAIK none of the appliances has metal trim, so I don't see SS pulls or faucet.

What about oil rubbed bronze for your metals? Bring a little depth to it all.

What about small glass tiles in the colors you see out side. In blue, green, teal, turquoise. Just a few rows in the middle of the backsplash.

That sounds perfect, Terri. (Why aren't you packing?)

I thought about the bronze. Have that in the master bath at the condo. Everything metal kind of gets to look 'aged' like that out there anyway. I was a little worried about how it would hold up under the 'tender loving care' of cleaners. Every year when we arrive out there I have to spend time cleaning up the finish.

I know I was sitting in this very spot a few hours ago, thinking I should be packing. Lol..but well...I am a procrastinator...and really the things I will take with me, I'll use up until we move. Lol..

I was looking at my husbands CD collection and video/dvd's and thinking he should just get rid of it..lol.

I am looking at ORB in the new house. Hubby wants to go with a darker stain on his new bar stools he built. So I think they would pick that up.

Plus ORB just needs a wipe and a dry. Where right now with my nickel, I have to "rub" a bit to shine em back up.
