Do you have adequate storage space without the pantry? Then B, hands down.

Will B mean that you have to go to the garage or basement to get a box of cereal? Then A.

Both options assume you have enough counter space to even consider a full height cabinet for anything.

Remember that a 30'' oven will need a 33'' cabinet, and mybe a 3'' filler if against a wall. A pantry with any pullouts will also need a 3'' filler to the wall side to have thedoor open wide enough for the pullouts to clear.

It's not just the gross appliance sizes that have to be factored into the overll available space. It's a lot more complicated than that. And some kitchens just don't have room for anything but standard 30'' appliances,, and even then, only a range. Don't forget the space that the people working in the kitchen need to DO that work.

If it is a euro box it would be a 30" box, and really no need for a 3" filler...unless trying to clear a really thick casing

And on the pantry you could use zero clearance hinges and minimize the filler as well....again unless there is a thick casing to worry about

Thanks for all the feedback! We will have another 12" pantry pull-out elsewhere, and some other room for pantry type storage. I think if we go with the wall oven instead of the 30" pantry we will have to store extra bulk items in the basement, but there will be room for cereal, grains, baking stuff, etc in the main kitchen space. Obviously, you can always do with more storage space, but function and a fun cooking space seem important too. Still not sure which way to go.
