I think your paying too much attention to it as it was installed today. Once all the rest of your kitchen is there.... You'll have so much more to see and won't seem so big of a deal. Wait a while to see if after your space is done and everything is back in place if you even notice it.

I used ultra bright LED tape lighting strips, and mounted them facing the back wall rather than straight down, they give plenty of task lighting and no granite reflections. Environmental Lights gets good reviews.
