XO Vent Hood with Baffles?

Posted by NYMK (My Page) on

I posted this in the appliance forum with no responses. Maybe more people will see it on the Kitchen Forum.

I'm looking for a chimney style vent hood with 600 CFM. An appliance store close to me recommended the XO vent hood with the baffles option. Any one have one of these? And use the baffles instead of the aluminum filter? If not, can you reco a similar vent hood for around $1K or under?

I've attached a link to my post in the appliance forum, in case people prefer responding there.

Thank you!

RE: XO Vent Hood with Baffles?

I can recommend the brand but I don't have a chimney hood with baffles. Mine is the XOP under-cabinet model with the aluminum filters, 600 cfm. Love it. I'm mostly a stovetop cook and cook a lot of stews, soups, stir-fries, sautées and it does a great job. No more lingering dinner smells in the house for hours. On the higest setting it is quite loud though. I've only had it 2 years but no problems.

We got the 36 in XOV for half price with our Bertazzoni range about 6 months ago. Love it......good job of pulling air, looks fab, easy to clean. Would recommend.
