A gap between my new quartz countertop and the wall :(

We just had new quarts countertops installed in our kitchen and there is a long stretch where there is a gap between the counter and the wall that's a full 3/8 inch. We contacted our sales rep and he confirmed that it should not exceed 1/4 in. so I'm sure they'll fix it if we ask. So here's my problem; I want to use a subway tile for my backsplash. Will the width of the tile (about 1/4 inch) plus the quickset (or whatever the installer will use) be enough to properly fill that gap? I want to avoid having workmen come back in and redo the piece if tile backsplash will still work (having workmen in my house is stressful!) Or maybe there is a wider subway tile that I could use instead (I only have a sample tile so far) ?? Thanks for reading this and for any suggestions.
