Open shelves next to range/hood - ISO pics, please!

I am contemplating a design that would place a 30" range and 36" hood between two 24" deep x 30" wide tall appliance cabs (fridge column on one side and freezer column or wall oven stack on other side). I have room for a 24" wide lower cab and counter on each side of the range. I could use 21" wide x 13" deep uppers flanking the hood, but am considering using 8-12" deep open shelves instead for a more "open" look and some display area.

Does anyone have pictures of open shelves used next to a range hood? TIA!
