How did you design your island if you put a table with it? Does your table fit under the countertop overhang? How big is the overhang? Did you have to put supports for the granite?

I need a 8' wide by 4' island. I am thinking about making the island taller so a table can fit under the counter top ledge. I have plenty of room to pull the table out & put in extension leaves for more seating for dinner parties.

Normal use would have the table pushed under the ledge lengthwise. I am worried about supports for the granite getting in the way of pushing the table in.

I hope I explained this well enough. I will try to find a picture.
