We are doing something similar in some respects -- white perimeter cabinets (white dove); quarter sawn oak island stained "pecan"., oak floors. We are using River White (leathered) for both. Our slab has a touch of yellow/gold in it, but not very much, so I think it depends on your slab. We wanted a granite with a ligth background that went well with both white and wood -- River White was one of the few that did, I think in part because it does have some of the gold tones in it. It also has a lot of burgandy, which I think would look great with cherry cabinets.

We have basically the same set up as you. White perimeter cabs and cherry island. Our floor is brazilian cherry and we painted our walls tan. The River White granite on both perimeter and island is stunning in our kitchen. With the tan walls our kitchen is on the warm side. I did notice that some slabs of the river white tend to be cooler with more gray/blue tones so I think you need to really look at the particular slab carefully.

With something different for each component of your kitchen, I think you need to simplify or it will look incohesive and choppy. Keep working at it!

Yes, the tone definitely depends on the slab. My RW granite is definitely on the cool side.

I don't want it to look choppy. Would something quiet like quartz be more cohesive? A soft white with quiet mottling like Organic White? We also picked up a sample of the LG Viatera quartz in Minuet, which is also soft white with some grey veining, similar to Torquay or Silestone Lagoon.
